Magical Mystery Tour

Roll Up for the Mystery Tour!

This explosion of creativity incorporates experimental sounds never before included in music, curated with the perfect dose of chaos.

THE RIDE OF A LIFETIME

Magical Mystery Tour is arguably one of the best albums by The Beatles. To me, it represents straying away from the status quo and embracing one’s own artistic expression, so I regard the work very highly.

Paul McCartney got the idea of a tour bus that travels to bewilderingly whimsical locations from Ken Kesey’s Merry Pranksters who were a group of hippies in the 1960s that traveled around the United States in a rainbow school bus. He combined the essence of the Merry Pranksters with the idea of going on Holiday. Thus, the Magical Mystery Tour was born!

McCartney wanted to create a film that allowed ample room for improvisation and experimentation to leave a psychedelic feel in the film spectacle. However, because of its loose structure and lack of organization, the film was perceived to be precipitous and did not bode well with critics.

Although the film was a flop, the album was highly successful and held the number one position on the American charts for eight weeks, and was even nominated for a Grammy Award.
