INsite Lab creates universally usable technologies and educate others with the knowlegde gained. I take pride in being a former member of this lab as creating accessible technologies is one of my passions.
I worked on the development team, which built functional prototypes for research projects. We are developped a voice acitivated personal assitant (VAPA) that is more suitable for blind users as they prefer VAPAs that can change their speech rate, pitch, volume, etc. through spontaneuous voice commands.
Lead a team of 8 in modifying Mycroft, an open-source voice assistant for Linux OS, so that users can dynamically modify audio settings, such as speed, volume, pitch, and verbosity
Created an Android companion app for Mycroft in which users can communicate with Mycroft and modify the audio settings with both voice-based commands and gesture recognition
Worked with PhD students to understand how people with disabilities navigate public spaces with voice assistants
Detailed application requirements, and analyzed the functionality of the application to ensure a quality product
Wrote thorough documentation to implement features successfully
